Coppy
The big boss in the sky reblogged me back to life!
Coppy was a character within the Tumblr Executive Suite: Productivity Edition 2016, which appeared on 1st April 2015 as an April Fools' prank. He appeared through interacting with the Executive Suite, which sat on the bottom-right of the dashboard. The feature was removed on 12AM 2nd April 2015 (UTC-07).
Appearance
Coppy is a photocopier with a pair of glass eyes on his scanner lid. The eyelids to these eyes are a minty green. He has two trays, each having a green handle; he also has collapsible trays on both of his sides, which he moves to convey emotion. He also has two slim, floating black eyebrows for this purpose.
Coppy has a panel of flashing controls and a large green button on the panel near his scanner bed. He has four small wheels on each corner of his base that allow him to move.
Despite mostly looking like a normal photocopier, Coppy implies himself that his self is in fact a human soul bound to possess the machine.

Tumblr Executive Suite
See Coppy's trailer on TumblrCoppy would sometimes detect what a user was doing, such as writing a text post, and would provide "help" on doing so. When simply browsing the site, Coppy would say random phrases. These pieces of dialogue would be vapid, and sometimes sexual or off-putting. Towards the end of the day, Coppy's appearance changed to one of tiredness; his body was hunched, his plastic yellowed, and papers falling out of his trays. His dialogue became more introspective and desperate, such as "Helping people is what I'm here for." and "I'm... I'm Coppy. I am."
Coppy was impossible to dismiss once the Executive Suite was activated, which lead to many complaints about the feature. Despite the negative reception, Tumblr never responded to the backlash around Coppy's brief appearance.
After Executive Suite
After the April Fools' prank, Coppy has been included in many Tumblr materials, such as merchandise and video series.
Officially, patches, ties, and shirts have been sold referencing Coppy[1], along with a virtual badge based on him. The description for the virtual badge reads "Certifies a Coppy-protected blog".
In collaboration with figurine producers Youtooz, a stylized figurine of the assistant was available for a limited time.
Tumblr Top 5, a webseries hosted on Tumblr, featured Coppy[2]. He was a felt puppet that interacted with the hosts, Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara. Most of his lines use terminology popularized on the site, such as "reblog" and "poor little meow meow"[3].
Trivia
- Coppy has apparently individually gone against Maryland in court in 2015, but no extra details were given.
- In ''Tumblr Top 5'', Coppy confirms that he died after the events of 2015[4].
